Burning Hearts After last week’s episode and with This Is Us now finished for its third season, The Village settles down and gets into a much better groove this week. We begin with Nick, whose suffering from PTSD and seeing visions from his time in Afghanistan. He smashes a plate in frustration and as Sarah comes running in to see if he’s okay, Amy appears from the bedroom, reassuring her that she’s got this and understands his mood swings....

Shaky Alibi Episode 3 of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window begins with Anna being brought in from the rain by a mysterious figure. We’re led to believe it’s Neil but it’s not 100% confirmed. When the rain stops and Anna awakens, the police are outside waiting for her. Both Detective Lane and Officer Walters want to take a statement from her. As Anna starts talking about the murder, they reveal that Lisa isn’t actually dead....

The Real Killer? Episode 7 of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window begins at the police station. With a coffee in hand, Anna is questioned. Threatening Carol is not a good look, nor is talking to Chastity the day before her murder. However, they’re interrupted by a man arriving to take Anna’s fingerprints, resulting in one of the funnier moments from this series....

Covenant I Episode 5 of Them begins with a look at the rigged housing situation in Compton. With numerous schematics and facts surrounding mortgage payments, Helen finds herself backed into a corner. That unfortunately manifests itself through the Johnson household, who are forced into taking 20% mortgage payments in exchange for moving to Compton. Tentatively, they accept the terms. This is not exactly ethical, which is something Sgt. Bull Wheatley figures out early on....

Conviction Episode 6 of Thirty Nine begins in the past with Mi-Jo admitting she’s cheated on her test. She’s always been determined to tell the truth. We then cut back to the present, with Seon-u’s overbearing father who has arrived to have dinner with Seon-u. However, he wants So-Won and Mi-Jo to attend as well. Unfortunately it makes So-Won uncomfortable, as she keeps her head down at dinner. Her father constantly calls her out for making everyone uncomfortable....

And he works at an admirable nonprofit organization called Hugs Not Thug, which helps once-incarcerated people and former gang members change their lives. When Maggie takes his car to San Diego, Julio has no choice but to complete an important task by bus. Today, he picks up his cousin Luis from prison. After serving an eight-year sentence, Luis is warmly welcomed by Julio’s mother, grandmother, and sisters. But Julio doesn’t much like how his family takes to comparing the men....

Thanksgiving The fall finale of This Is Us showcases a pivotal moment for the show, one that marks the midway point with a thick cloud of poignancy for the upcoming second half of the series. For now though, it’s all about the celebrations and Thanksgiving anchors all of our characters together for the annual dinner. We begin the episode with a montage of Nicky through the years; his Father shouting at him while Jack keeps him on the straight and narrow....

Forty: Part One Episode 1 of This Is Us Season 5 begins moments after that big fight with Randall. Kevin and Madison are having twins. Only, there’s more pressing matters to deal with given the news of a certain virus spreading around. Kevin heads over to Kate’s house where he reveals that Madison is pregnant with twins – social distancing of course while they do. This is crazy news but also tinged with a cruel sense of irony given Kate and Toby were discussing a sibling....

Four Fathers Episode 3 of This Is Us Season 6 begins with Toby leaving Kate’s and heading back to work. This simple opener turns the focus away from motherhood and to the often overlooked world of male parental woes. Toby does his best to facetime with Kate but it’s clear that this is taking its toll on their relationship. Another person struggling with the current parental situation is Kevin. He feels like he’s missing out on the twins’ development and his life is spiraling as a result of this....

We Ride Out For Family Episode 7 of Top Boy Season 2 begins with Curtis and Vee heading down to London, intent on finding Lauryn. She’s still at Beck’s place, with Jaq continuing to try and hide her sister no matter what. Curtis and Vee begin searching for Lauryn. After breaking into her place and looking around, they find nothing and leave. However, you can sense they’re just getting started. Meanwhile Sully is back in London and he joins Dushane, informing him that Spain has been dealt with and shipments will be coming in soon....

When she mentions Kirby, Audrey’s mind is changed and she agrees to meet her. Mads tells Audrey that it was Adam who gave the intel on her, but even if Audrey had won, Martin would have used it as leverage against her. Audrey decides to help Adam, even if it goes against her morality. Malik meets Adam, who tells him the entire truth about Martin and his devious plans. Adam believes Malik is a responsible man who can run the service the best among the present agents....

Guilty? AppleTV+’s latest series Truth Be Told wastes little time getting right to the heart of a case, where a potentially innocent man has been in prison for 19 years. This premise has echoes of Making A Murderer running throughout and despite a slow start, does have potential to be an interesting series given what we receive in the first episode. We begin with news footage for the murder of famed author Chuck Buhrman....

Two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes, with both preparing to complete their education and enter vampire society. The latest series from Julie Plec is a very different YA romance adaptation but if you love vampires, romance and end of the world drama, you should be in your element with this one....

With nods toward reality and TV news reports peppered throughout, Victim Number 8 flirts with some interesting ideas, all whilst delivering twists and turns through every episode....

Miracle Episode 5 of Vikings: Valhalla begins in Uppsala with Freydis arriving for her pilgrimage. She’s brought inside a temple where she learns more about the Gods. She’s also there to learn her destiny too. Freydis goes on her spiritual journey, where she finds a seer who promises that if she keeps running then the cries will only grow louder. After this cryptic message, the seer turns into a crow and flies away....

Episode Guide Vincenzo is an interesting Korean drama, one that’s essentially the sum of two parts. The first presents a gritty, gangster-esque thriller, complete with hand to hand combat, shootouts and tense stand-offs between characters. The other is a more straight forward law drama, sprinkling in bites of slapstick humour and a colourful ensemble of supporting characters. The result is Vincenzo which feels like the Korean equivalent of marmite – you’ll either love it or hate it....
