There’s certainly enough here to keep you coming back for more but whether ABC’s latest drama can shake off the shadow of its clear influences and deliver something wholly original remains to be seen. In the quiet town of Southall, the people are rocked by a strange blackout in the middle of the night....

The Hunt For Piper Out of all the shows stopping for a winter break, Emergence feels like the one that needed it the most. While I’m sure this series has been mapped out from the beginning, Emergence has often given off vibes that it’s winging it. Between the different antagonistic threats, the questionable plot twists and eventual reveal last time out about the androids, Emergence finally feels like a show that’s settled down this week and focused on one plot, bringing with it a lot more clarity around the direction of the show going forward....

Slow, laborious & way too long Marvel’s Phase 4 has been a bit of a mixed bag so far, starting brightly with WandaVision and then sort of meandering around through different movies and shows. Nowhere else is that more evident than in Marvel’s latest big-screen bonanza, Eternals. Overlong and painfully slow, this movie is arguably one of Marvel’s biggest disappointments to date. Eternals does buck the usual trend of Marvel movies, with a much more thought provoking concept and a lot of philosophical ideas being pedaled around one’s purpose in the world....

Comic-Book Romance After yesterday’s quirky, dramatic episode, Extraordinary You returns for another fun, well-written slice of kdrama. Between learning more about the rules of this world and seeing Dan-O come to grips with being a supporting character, Extraordinary You does well to play on its unique premise whilst making sure the fun-loving humour and lighthearted tone never waivers. We pick up where we left off from before with Dan-O finding out she isn’t the heroine of our tale....

Despite a lacklustre story and standard action set pieces, there’s no denying that the robotic future is stunningly realized here. The settings are vibrant with a psychedelic medley of neon colour and the general design and feel of the film is consistent from start to finish. Whilst the story is serviceable, there’s nothing here that really stands out with a cliched tale of finding lost memories the driving force for our protagonist Major....

However, Nanno soon meets Yuri and the girl becomes her protégé, joining Nanno on her revenge missions. Only, Yuri’s methods don’t quite align with Nanno’s way of thinking. There’s a lot of drama this season and everything leads nicely to a deliciously ambiguous finale....
