Perpetratin’ P-Valley has all the ingredients to be a compelling slice of life drama depicting the lives of an interesting group of characters. With some nice foundational work but an abundance of musical montages that feel unnecessarily long, it remains to be seen whether this series can back up its promising start with some tight-knit character writing over the weeks. For now though, the show gets off to a relatively good start....
The Story Panic is a series about adrenaline-soaked games and testing your nerves. In essence, this is Hunger Games, Fear Factor and Saw all rolled into one. For those unaware, this game of Panic takes place in a quiet Texan town called Carp. Each year, all graduating seniors are eligible to enter a competition and within that, there’s only one winner. New judges and challenges come forward to keep things fresh, but the game is also mired in controversy....
The Myth of the Guardian of The Cave Episode 3 of Paranormal begins with Refaat sitting by Huwaida’s bedside while she’s unconscious – but still alive. Following the Egyptian curse, he’s somewhat of a celebrity now given his part in moving the mummified bodies. Outside, Reda arrives to watch over her for a while, prompting Refaal to ask whether he’s heard anything more about Shiraz’s mansion. He hasn’t, of course, but does tell Refaat to drop this for now....
Politics Above Equality More so than all the other shows I’m currently watching, Patriot Act achieves a consistently impressive level of quality. Delivering another bout of hard hitting facts and well-written comedy, Hasan Minhaj returns to tackle the troubling issue around civil rights under the Trump administration. I’ve said numerous times in these reviews that some of the US policies are a little alien to me, especially being from Britain and not in-tune with the day-to-day politics of the country....
A Masterclass In Confusing Editing Episode 4 of Private Lives picks up right where we left off, Joo-Eun is taken to the mortuary to check on the status of Jeong-Hwan’s body. Or, at least what she believes to be him. The resulting corpse is burnt to a crisp and difficult to fully examine. However, she outright declares that it’s not him and walks away. Heading back home, she looks upon the picture of her and Jeong-wan again....

But this time, new showrunner Hannah (Rachel Bloom) wants the show to address real issues. Her vision is compromised, however, when the old showrunner Gordon (Paul Reiser) steps into the scene. Meanwhile, actors Reed (Keegan-Michael Key), Bree (Judy Greer), Clay (Johnny Knoxville), and Zack (Calum Worthy) have to navigate their own challenges....
Elsewhere, Mr Lee reports to Chairman Jin that customers were highly interested in an unlimited compensation policy offered by Soonyang Group to affiliates possibly affected by Y2K. In contrast, Young-ki’s secretary and Dong-ki think the promotional move is risky. We find out that the promotion is Do-jun’s idea, and he tells his grandfather that if Y2K passes without any issue, Chairman Jin will owe him a favour. Count down the year 2000....
Military Service Record Of Youth returns with a much more melodramatic episode this time around. With more familial woes for Hye-Jun to deal with and a deeper divide starting to form between Hye-Hun and Hae-Hyo, this drama is just starting to heat up now. Episode 2 of Record Of Youth begins with Hye-Jun questioning Jeong-Ha about her phone and whether she’s his fan. In her flustered state, she instead deflects it and tells him she’s actually Hae-Hyo’s fan instead....
Moving Out Episode 5 of Record Of Youth begins with Jeong-Ha meeting Hae-Hyo who admits that her dream is to have her own make-up brand. She thanks him for her opportunity but his lingering look seems to imply that he has feelings for her. For now though, he keeps these to himself. Not long after, Hye-Jun runs into Jeong-Ha who shows up for the script reading. As Hae-Hyo teases him, the duo start childishly playing together and fighting over Jeong-Ha’s attention....
Renewed Or Cancelled? Move to Heaven is a Korean series split across 10 episodes. The entire season is up on Netflix now, with episodes that clock in at a little under an hour. This emotionally stirring K-drama certainly kicked up a storm when it released. It’s also one of the best K-dramas of 2021! What is Move to Heaven about? Suffering from Aspergers, Geu-Roo is our main protagonist and he’s looked after by his Father Jeong-U....
The Devil You Know Episode 2 of Resident Evil returns to that cliffhanger, as Jade jumps to her doom into the horde of zombies. She lands hard on the roof of a car but somehow survives without breaking both her legs. With barely a scratch on her, she proceeds to stand up and sprint. Thankfully, some deus ex machina saves the day – again – as an armored car breaks through and Jade bags a lift from the driver....
