Memories Of The Alhambra Season 1 Episode 9 Impressions The Review Geek

48 Hour Countdown Memories Of The Alhambra is one of those shows that starts off strong and just seems to grow from strength to strength. As we pass the halfway mark in this 16 episode Korean drama, I find myself continually struggling to find criticisms each week in this impressively written show. While I take no pleasure in writing a bad review for a show or film, Memories Of The Alhambra is such a well written drama it’s almost prophetic at this point that the episode we’re given will live up to expectations and deliver in both plot and characterization....

Moloch 2022 Movie Review Folklore Weighs Heavy In This Refurbished Shudder Horror Flick

Folklore weighs heavy in this refurbished Shudder horror flick If you dig deep enough for it, folklore in any culture is not hard to carve into a chilling horror film. Many filmmakers have tried their hand at it. It can produce a bit of a mixed bag, but it’s still good enough for puritan genre enthusiasts. Moloch would be a similarly satisfying experience for people with these inclinations. It accesses familiar grounds in the territory of fatal, cult-like stories that reach out to you....

Monica O My Darling 2022 Movie Review A Pulpy Retro But Fresh Murder Mystery

Filmmakers in the Hindi industry have often been reluctant to experiment but auteurs like these have a major presence in how their films turn out. Bala first broke onto the scene with Mard ko Dard Nahi Hota in 2018. It was quite similar to Monica O My Darling in tone, combining quirky with heady. Bala’s amalgamation of Kashyap’s rawness and Raghvan’s metrical approach comes alive with splendor in Monica. The premise is far from simple but confined to a company called Unicorn Robotics....

More Than Just A Name Infected Mushroom Album Review The Review Geek

Track Listing More of Just The Same Only Solutions Ani Mevushal Symphonatic No Line in MIDI Splicon Freedom Bill Infected Megamix Violent Delight remains one of my favourite albums of all time. The combination of instruments, the epic build-up of tracks like Heavyweight and Vicious Delicious along with some really smart compositional work make it an album that successfully blurs the line between psy-trance and rock, delivering the best of both worlds across its run-time....

Mortal Kombat Annihilation Film Review The Review Geek

A Fatality Of The Worst Kind After the surprising success of the first Mortal Kombat film, Annihilation literally annihilates any glimmer of hope the series had with a sequel that fails on almost every conceivable level. Although Mortal Kombat manages to entertain somewhat with its ludicrously bonkers story, it falls in the realm of “so-bad-its-funny” and actually manages to turn itself into a comedy, even if every element of the film falls way below the standard set by the first....

Mummy Reborn Film Review The Review Geek

A Tonally Confused Comedy/Horror Mash-Up Given the amount of content I get through every single week, sometimes it’s a refreshing change of pace to dip into the Indie film market and discover a hidden gem. Unfortunately, Mummy Reborn is not a hidden gem. Nor is it a particularly good or enjoyable film. It’s simply a cheap, tonally confused comedy/horror mash-up that can’t quite decide what it wants to say or do....
