Crash Landing On You sees a South Korean woman stuck in North Korea because of a paragliding accident. While we know that the two main characters are most likely going to fall in love, the unusual setting of North Korea adds an original spin on this age-old tale. The first episode presents us with an introduction to all our characters and gives enough drama, suspense and humour to make it quite the decent first installment....

The Ugly Truth Episode 2 of the Spain portion of Criminal is arguably one of the best episodes of the series. With some big reveals and an open ending, the episode does well to move things at a decent pace whilst delivering pressure cooker stuff as always in the interview room. We begin with Maria arriving to work late, as the interview with Carmen has already begun. The woman, whose younger sister Aurora was found drowned in a bathtub, refuses to give up much information while Maria is brought up to scratch on what’s happened so far....

Break The Loop Arkane have a knack for creating solid games. The Dishonored series, Bioshock 2 and Prey – to name a few – are all solid shooters that still stand up to this day. And Deathloop will undoubtedly follow suit too. Armed with solid gameplay and an interesting premise, Deathloop is a weird kettle of fish. It’s a game that thinks it’s cleverer than it actually is, and despite boasting a plethora of different tools to finish off your enemies, the end-route is actually surprisingly linear....

The Knife Apple+’s latest addition Defending Jacob starts its season with a decent but slow first episode. While the plot is intriguing, it doesn’t feel very original and adopts many of the same sort of tropes inherent with this genre without much in the way of originality or uniqueness. Episode 1 of Defending Jacob starts with a man walking in court as we hear a lawyer talking to the jury who will decide if an indictment can be granted....

They gauge that Jugnu and Azaad committed the murders hours after fleeing from custody. Chadha and Subhash start beating up the tribals as they try to look for information about Jugnu and Azaad. The media is spewing hate on the Delhi Police while Neeti is worried about confronting Vartika. She is reprimanded by the DCP for accepting a call from her family which could be avoided. She cancels her leave application and dismisses Neeti without a suspension....

Based on a true story, ‘Denial’ follows the court room drama from a holocaust denier, David Irving (Timothy Spall), as he battles Deborah Lipstadt (Rachel Weisz) in the quest for truth as to whether the holocaust did in fact occur. While ‘Denial’ works well in its methodical approach to basing an argument on facts not feelings, it ultimately suffers from being too long and stumbling in its final act. The court drama actually feels like it would have worked better as one continuous stretch of film but instead its peppered with interesting, yet pace destroying, scenes that suck any sort of tension from the court room before it....
