Surprisingly Compelling But Lacking Charming Characters On paper The Laws Of Thermodynamics should be an unmitigated disaster. Merging theoretical science, a documentary format and a romance film is something that feels like it should fail on every conceivable level yet somehow The Laws Of Thermodynamics just seems to work. While some of the scientific concepts and ideas may be lost on some people, the idea to blend these genres together to give more substance to both is an impressive feat and one worth applauding, even if the romantic film parts are cliched and lacking originality on their own....

A Failed Meeting Of Two Worlds The Lego franchise reminds me a lot of Ubisoft sequels. Most of them feel recycled, with the same gameplay loop repeated against a continuously evolving, changing array of pretty aesthetics and backgrounds. With its open world, Minecraft-like building, Travelers Tales attempt to merge the open-world formula of Lego Worlds with the traditional format of a narrative-driven Lego game and the results are lacklustre and disappointing to say the least....

With the men desperate to grab The Child, Mando eventually kills them all but finds The Child captured and at knifepoint. Forced to drop his weapons, Mando outsmarts the bandit with his own jetpack, dropping him to his doom....

Road to Nowhere Episode 8 of The Midnight Club begins with Ilonka waking up and confronting Stanton, wanting to know who’s going home. Stanton doesn’t reveal who, but pleads with Ilonka not to say anything until they’re 100% certain. It’s also definitely not Ilonka either. Ilonka awkwardly promises not to say anything… and immediately tells Kevin in the next scene. Ilonka is convinced the ritual was a success and decides to get some answers… from Shasta....

Blackout Episode 1 of The Midwich Cuckoos begins with soldiers patrolling the street. A couple, Zoe and Sam, evade them and pack up their things, ready to leave. Unfortunately, they’re stopped by a strange girl who shows up, ominously asking “Mummy, what have you done?” We then cut back 5 years earlier to find our couple en-route to their new house, moving to the beautifully quaint village of Midwich. Now, Midwich is home to a number of different inhabitants, each with their own issues....

Casa Roja gather and discuss how amazing she is and how her sacrifice will help them to strive for better in the future. Two Places At Once Stephen King adaptations usually go one of two ways – they’re either really good or disappointing. So far at least, The Outsider feels like the former, spinning a deliciously twisted tale that begins as a simple crime drama before diving into a nightmarish supernatural tale that could go anywhere given how this one ends. Episode 1 of The Outsider begins with a man out walking his dog....

She asks if anybody is around and finds Reece, one of Burton’s friends. She tells him to take her to the doctor, as she seems to have lost her eyesight again. Sticking firmly to the formulaic tropes you’d expect from the murder mystery genre, this 12 hour adventure is certainly fun to play but a plethora of technical and graphical issues are difficult to ignore in an otherwise enjoyable game....

Elsewhere, Owen lands in Washington and goes home. At home, Hannah is shocked to see his state and asks about the phone call from last night. Owen says he doesn’t want to talk about it as she will only ask him to quit. He promises her that he is done with the case that took much of his time and that he will be home more. As he is about to leave, two secret service agents come for him at his place and drive away with him....

On the other hand, Randolph is back from his clinic and Kit is updating him on the state of the hospital. He assures her that the hospital will find a way to survive. His stay at the clinic has not been as helpful as he is hoping and he is not ready to get back to surgeries. Kit gets a message from Irving asking her to turn on the TV....

Peek and Shriek Episode 2 of The Resident Season 6 begins with Kitty venting to Billie about the impending danger that looms in case Betz, a billionaire entrepreneur who can’t relate to the suffering of a common man becomes governor. He wants to cut funds to public hospitals and Kitty is preparing how Chastain will survive if its budget is cut by a third. In the meantime, Nurse Ellen finds a witness to a rage fight as she waits in line to vote....
