A Bombastic Blockbuster Lacking A Coherent Story Stories about time travel are difficult to get right. Sometimes you can get lucky with movies like Back to the Future or The Terminator but other times you get a right stinker like Time Under Fire. On paper though, the film actually has some nice ideas. Set in the not-too-distant future of 2022, the world is stunned during the World Cup when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 and claim aliens (dubbed the White Spikes) are wiping out humanity....

She coldly calls her a prostitute and Elena squirms in her seat over hearing this about her biological daughter. Back in the present, Ruggero speaks to Linda about the lead he has to work on and shows her the incriminating photos of Elena. It turns out he was the one who took them....

A Light Supper 1961 – Allison Episode 6 of The Umbrella Academy Season 2 begins with Allison stumbling out the alleyway, just like we saw in episode 1. Only, this time we see what happened after the diner incident. As she walks through the streets, she finds herself harassed by a group of men. Running for her life, she stumbles upon our familiar Beauty Parlor and hides from them inside. With her throat still badly hurt from the Vanya incident, she’s unable to speak....

Kugelblitz Episode 4 of Umbrella Academy Season 3 starts with a little montage through time, seeing Harlan’s journey up to the events in the main atrium. Thanks to his powers, Harlan moves around a lot and along the way, knocks out (or kills) numerous people. When his mother ends up with cancer, she passes away in 1989. Since then, it appears he’s kept quiet and used this ASMR as a way of controlling his emotions....

The Puppet Boss We begin episode 7 of The Uncanny Counter with Chang-Gyu who demanding to know where “the kid” is. This, of course, is referring to Mun. Elsewhere, Cheong-Shin reflects on the last moments with his Father as he crushes his car with the dead body still inside. Snatching up the money, he somehow manages to find his way inside Ha-Na’s vision which catches us up to the moments last episode....

Its plot is good and although it deviates from the source material, its the characters that drive the series forward and in this respect, The Walking Dead is fantastic even if it does fall into a few cliche traps along the way....

Thirty, Nine Episode 1 of Thirty-Nine begins with a look at our three main characters and best friends, Mi-Jo, Chan-Young and Joo-Hee. They’re on the verge of turning 40 and spend a lot of time together. They do their best to avoid baby showers or weddings, believing they’re too old for that now. However, they do attend funerals – an ominous bit of foreshadowing I assume? Anyway, our plot starts with Dr Mi-Jo Cha arriving at work....

Beginning as a light comedy, Time Share quickly descends into a nightmare fueled by paranoia, personified through the two main characters whom the film follows for its 90 minutes run time. While there are undoubtedly going to be some who may lose patience with this slow-paced drama, it’s worth persevering with for a third act that makes the wait worth it....

Aqualad Following the cliffhanger ending last time out, Titans takes a detour this week as we jump back in time to showcase the original Titans tackle both Dr. Light and Deathstroke. With some good characterisation used to flesh out the troubled history for our team, Titans delivers another decent episode here, even if it leaves our unresolved ending from last time out still hanging in the balance. We begin five years ago where we see Deathstroke on the warpath, assassinating targets with a combination of samurai swords and sniper shots....

Lady Vic Episode 6 of Titans Season 3 begins with a look at a brutal femme fatale. She leaves two officers a bloody heap on the edge of Gotham before heading into the city. Flashbacks to six years ago shed more light on what’s going on here. Dick Grayson, operating under the Robin alias, heads into a jewelry store where Barbara Gordon happens to be working as a thief. Anyway, the pair eventually head out for drinks....

Tomorrow Episode 11 Tomorrow is the latest Friday/Saturday K-drama revolving around the afterlife and a group known as the death angels. With suicide rate spiking, the team stumble upon a downhearted, rejected guy called Jun-Woong. After saving a homeless man from committing suicide on a bridge, Jun-Woong runs into Gu-Ryeon and Ryung-Gu, two of the death angels on the crisis management team. Their objective is to save suicidal people, but when Jun-Woong slips into a coma, he finds himself part of the team....

Quick As Lightning Episode 7 of Twenty Five Twenty One starts with Min-Chae revealing why she wants to quit ballet. She’s not seeing any progress and believes continuing like this is futile. Only, her mother is quick to point out that progress is not linear. In fact, it’s closer to steps, with progress slowly improving over time rather than really quickly. If Min-Chae likes ballet, she should consider this carefully and rethink quitting....

Back & Forth Twice Upon A Time is utterly bizarre. It’s also pretty slow paced and artistic making it a very love/hate series so far. As we move into the second episode, Twice Upon A Time introduces its third stylistic time-line, this time blurring the outer edges of the screen to depict flashbacks. These, coupled with the letterbox scenes and present-timeline ultimately forms the crux of the story from here on out....

An Underwhelming Thriller Originally called Downward Twin, Twinsanity is a very basic psychological thriller. Armed with a chunks of expository dialogue, Twinsanity is a little rough around the edges but makes up for it with a pretty enjoyable story and a nicely worked twist at the end. While Twinsanity fails to offer anything particularly outstanding that hasn’t been done better elsewhere, the ending to this one almost makes the journey worth taking....

The Final Choice Episode 16 of Under the Queen’s Umbrella begins with calls for deposed Queen Yoon to be given capital punishment. Given Ik-Hyeon plotted treason by posing as the Royal Physician, it puts her mum in the firing line, with the scholars adamant that she must be punished no matter what. What is Yoon’s favour? Hwa-Ryeong speaks to Yoon outside, far away from the palace. She tells Yoon that her plan has failed, given Kwon is dead....
