Mia Hines Episode 1 of Love Life Season 2 begins with an introduction to a brand new character, Marcus Watkins. We’re first introduced to him at Darby’s wedding in 2016, although this isn’t Darby’s story anymore – it’s Marcus’s. This is actually quite a neat way to tie both seasons together, but Marcus is very different to Darby. He’s far less eccentric and works as a book editor. He piques the interest of Mia, another less-than-enthusiastic member of Darby’s wedding as she waits outside for an Uber....

Min-Hyeok’s Sacrifice Several weeks ago, Love With Flaws felt like a runaway freight train that could career off tracks at any given moment. This week seems to have steadied the carriages somewhat, as the show knuckles down and delivers some pretty good story development, with a lot more questions this time around and some good, albeit rushed, focus on the various subplots bubbling away in the background. The episodes begin with Seo-Yeon and Kang heading inside together where they awkwardly start talking over each other....

Standing To Attention I wasn’t initially sold on Love With Flaws but this comedy is starting to grow on me now. With Kang’s stomach problems put to bed for now and a lot less of the crude humour that dominated the early parts of this show, the focus now turns to the will-they/ won’t they romance between Seo-Yeon and Kang Woo, and is all the stronger for it. We begin in the past with Seo-Yeon and Kang as kids sitting down together eating, while he shows her the different pictures he’s drawn....

Maejukheon Painting Contest: Part Two Episode 6 of Lovers of the Red Sky begins with the evaluation starting for the second round. It’s a tough competition and it comes down to two final paintings. This will decide which painter comes in first place before the third and final round. The two finalists are none other than Cheon-Ki and Dae-Yu. She’s questioned over her black boulders, which Cheon-Ki iterates is a result of her blindness....

The Book of The Kingdoms Episode 2 of Luna Nera starts with Tebe and Janara heading to the communal grave to collect Natalia’s body. As they bring her back in the ancient house, Ade looks at it and is shocked as she turns into her mother, Antalia. Meanwhile, Cesaria and Spirto head to Ade’s house to look for the book Sante is after. They find it under the floorboards but are unable to free it from the roots due to the spell Antalia has cast....

The Compass Pointed to the Darkness Episode 1 of Made In Abyss Season 2 starts with Vueko, a new female character, reminiscing about the horrors of her past life involving a former fisherman who’d found her. She also ganders at her compass, one of her most valuable possessions. She recalls the story this fisherman would always tell her concerning–the day he found this mysterious compass. While traversing the seas, this captain found an abandoned ship filled with dead human remains....

The Cradle of Desire Episode 7 of Made in Abyss Season 2 begins with Vueko sharing her past experiences with the Ganja to Riko and friends as it pertains to the Golden City. Her flashback occurs during the concluding events of episode three, where the Ganja are following the robotic individuals (who we now know are Interference Units). Belaf and Wazukyan interrogate the robots and ask them if they are this area’s residents....

Bear Hunt Episode 8 of Maid Season 1 begins with the familiar sound of Sean breathing. Much like episode 1, Alex struggles to sleep but this time she’s in Sean’s arms in bed. Freaking out, Alex gets dressed and waits in the car, managing to get a lift from Sean to the ferry. In the morning, Sean starts suffocating Alex (figuratively, guys) and tries to stay with her all morning, not letting her out his sight....

A Quest For Answers In The Depths Of Alhambra After yesterday’s episode, I couldn’t wait to start Memories Of The Alhambra today. Having refrained from spoiling major plot points yesterday in my write up, the 10th episode begins a few minutes prior to yesterday’s climactic gun fight. Jeong-Hun appeared to have died in combat and with Jin Woo stuck on the train with gun-wielding enemies, things certainly looked bleak from the onset....

The Sins Of A Father We’re into the home stretch now and Memories Of The Alhambra continues to weave its twists and turns with one of its most revealing episodes. While the first half of this hour episode feels a little lacklustre, focusing predominantly on Hee-Joo and Jin Woo’s blossoming relationship, the second half revitalises the drama, setting the pieces into motion for what looks to be a divisive and incredibly endearing final 4 episodes....

An Important Story that Unfortunately Lands Awkwardly A significant story depicting the way Indian women are regarded not only in the workplace but within their families. Miss India sheds light on a culture still ingrained in traditional societal roles. Conceptually this Netflix movie is quite powerful, but unfortunately it plays out awkwardly. Director Narendra Nath’s debut film is a subtitled Telugu-language drama following Manasa Samyuktha (Keerthy Suresh) from her village of Lambasingi, India through to chasing her goal of becoming a career woman in America....

Farewell My Friends Season 2 of My First First Love has been quite the wild ride. With plenty of twists and turns along the way and a mature tone, the Season 2 finale does well to round out all our characters and give them a perfect ending befitting of the series. However, the execution is a little shaky at times. Much like other anthologies of its kind, there are some duds along the way but those duds far outweigh the outstanding chapters on display here....

Can We Pick Up The Pace A Bit? Episode 6 of Nevertheless begins at the gymnasium as Jae-Eon watches from the wings while Na-Bi dances. After, Jae-Eon arrives to greet her, gushing over how impressed he was with her movies. These moments happen to be in the past, and soon pave way for that earth-shattering reveal last episode. This, of course, was followed by Na-Bi acting like a total badass and mentioning how Jae-Eon likes to make love before walking away....
