As we soon learn this episode, This Is Us has a way of bringing time periods together with connected emotions – both good and bad. The finale to This Is Us builds up to a climactic resolution to the Randall/Kevin situation that’s been brewing throughout the season and with it, some glimmers of hope for the future too....

As we cut across to Kevin Hart, episode 1 of True Story begins with this wildly popular comedian speaking somberly about what he’s done to make it to the top. Only, in this story Hart is playing a guy called Kid, who finishes an appearance on The Ellen Show and heads back on a flight....

This is what he went to prison for. Bodhi sends Elliot as Dwight’s counsel. The police, ATF, and FBI do not have anything concrete on him and he walks scot-free. Dwight visits Stacy, who will be all right, in the hospital. He says that her gesture to save him could not be repaid with anything and that he is grateful for it. Waltrip is on the loose. Stacy informs Dwight that the biker leader has a lot of money and influence and will never be caught....

Although Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King is no Sopranos, it comfortably rules in its skin. Sylvester Stallone headlines the project with a towering central performance. His Dwight Manfredi has just been released from prison and must start from scratch in a foreign city. The emphasis in the storytelling is on an attempt to use Stallone’s screen presence and macho-man image to sugar coat the underlying theme of redeeming oneself by getting back on their feet....

A Good Film That Never Quite Reaches Its Potential I have a real soft spot for Korean dramas. Hotel Del Luna’s ending made me sob uncontrollably, Designated Survivor: 60 Days had me gasping during big plot reveals while Memories Of The Alhambra’s ending frustrated me more than most other shows have managed. And that’s just in 2019. When it was announced Netflix would be showcasing this Korean romance film, released earlier this year in Korea, I simply had to watch it....

Uncle Episode 15 Uncle is a Korean remake of the BBC drama with the same name. Following a down and out musician with no fans or prospects, Joon-Hyuk’s life hits rock bottom. He also has an estranged sister called Joon-Hee. However, with things looks bleak, Joon-Hyuk turns to his sister for help. Joon-Hee meanwhile has just come out of an abusive relationship. She moves into a cheap apartment and decides to try and make a fresh start....

The story takes place deep in the Joseon Era, and within the palace exists troublemaking princes who cause nothing but headaches for the royal family. In particular for their mother, the Queen Hwa-Ryeong who’s supposed to act with grace and dignity, but for her sons playing up. Understandably, she ends up exasperated and sensitive. Every day of her life is full of trials and challenges but perhaps none are more challenging than simultaneously helping to run a Kingdom and raise two troublesome kids!...

Rectify Episode 7 of Undone Season 2 starts with Jacob, Alma and Becca all being greeted by a young Geraldine on the other side of Alma’s door. “You found me.” She says. It turns out Geraldine left her younger self behind the door; the painful memories of her regretful childhood. We’re in Poland and Geraldine’s mother happens to be a soothsayer, which is basically a fortune teller. A soldier shows up with a wad of money at their door, demanding she read his future....

Dinner Party Episode 2 of Upload Season 2 starts with Nora and Matteo out chopping wood together. Away from technology and distractions, the pair are getting along well. Too well for some (including Pastor Rob) who notices them kissing in public. He even throws over a stern word about what they’re doing later on. Meanwhile, Nathan continues to try and find Nora, but to no avail. Nathan is encouraged by Luke to accept that Nora is gone, that the murderer is still on the loose and Ingrid is still hanging around....

The Outing Episode 6 of Upload Season 2 starts with Brian Choak visiting David, telling him there’s an important vote coming up. Nora happens to be listening in and encourages Nathan to go on a field trip with her to New York City to investigate further. How is that going to be possible? Well, Nathan can actually buy a Reality Private Tour, with Nora as his guide. Essentially it’s one long Facetime call, with a tablet strapped to Nora’s chest so he can essentially see what she sees in her POV....

Break The Tether Given the success of Get Out, it was always going to be difficult for Jordan Peele to follow up on its success with his next horror project. On the surface, Us’ story isn’t particularly original, following the home invasion narrative closely. It’s full of plot holes and illogical character decisions that feel plucked right from any other horror film. When you dive a little deeper under the surface however, there’s a myriad of interesting societal and thematic questions here that make Us much closer to an arthouse film than anticipated....

The Camp Episode 8 of V-Wars begins with Luther heading into the Internment camp to find Dez hiding among them. Luther grabs him and as he tries to leave, the others plead with him to lead them to safety. When he refuses, the men start to turn, causing the guards to act out. Thankfully, Jimmy arrives at the last minute and manages to save him, putting him and Dez under FBI jurisdiction Kaylee screams out and is found by Michael and Dani in the warehouse, tied up....

Taking A Breather Following a few episodes of non-stop action, Vagabond stops to catch its breath this week, with a much more subdued slice of drama. As we see more about the investigation, all of this culminates in a climactic finale that leaves things wide open for tomorrow’s episode. Cha begins by confronting Jessica about the plane crash, threatening her before she tells him she feels sorry for him. After addressing the media and telling them Cha’s claims about the crash are false, Hae-Ri almost gets fired after confronting her boss, before visiting Joo-Cheol and asking him about the files on Michael....
