Shadows Die Again & Again I’ve never been a big fan of From Software Games. I do, however, appreciate what the studio have done for the gaming industry, presenting the right balance between risk and reward through its robust, intense fighting and imaginative boss fights. The worlds they’ve created, from Demon Souls and Bloodborne through to the Dark Souls series have been gorgeously rendered and do well to show off fantastical worlds full of some of the best enemy design seen in years....

The Urban Jungle We’re in Europe for the latest episode of Seven Worlds, One Planet and as the skyline turns to darkness and the city lights switch on from space, we see the crowded metropolis first-hand. Humanity has absolutely transformed this continent and having visited a fair few of the beautiful capitals dotted around the different countries, there’s an incredibly diverse and busy array of urban locales to visit. Unfortunately this isn’t great news for the wildlife....

The We We Are With Dylan holding both override switches together, the season 1 finale of Severance sees Helly, Mark and Livery all try to make sense of their newfound lives. We know there will be some big cameos in this series, including Abomination, Bruce Banner and Daredevil, but the focus is squarely on Jennifer Walters, a woman who navigates a complicated life of being a single, 30-something attorney who finds being the 6-foot-7 inch superpowered Hulk a bit of an inconvenience....

Shining Girls Episode 4 Shining Girls is a gripping crime drama, one that blends elements of psychological thriller with a real slow burn story. Kirby is our protagonist, and after suffering from a brutal attack that’s left her psychologically scarred, shifting realities, the murder of a girl called Julia appears to be linked to her assault. In order to try and stop this killer once and for all, Kirby teams up with a veteran reporter called Dan....

Luckily, the shot has distracted Soo-ho, stopping him from putting a bullet in Yeong-ro’s head. The spies drop their cover and close ranks with Soo-ho as a gun fight ensues. All the while, Soo-ho keeps Yeong-ro trapped next to him. Comrade Joo is shot in the arm as the dorm becomes collateral damage. ANSP reinforcements burst in armed with riot shields and form a line of defence on their side of the impasse – the side closest to the door....

Smoulder To Life Episode 2 of Snowpiercer Season 2 begins with Melanie’s dream shattered by the arrival of Alex, who greets her while she’s behind bars. Alex demands to know which side Melanie is on and how it was snowing outside. Alex refuses to believe her though and walks away. Melanie is eventually brought before Wilford who has no confidence in Layton’s managerial style. Melanie’s vote of confidence is enough to pique his interest though, sending a message down to Snowpiercer asking to see the man for himself....

Icicle After several episodes of plot development, Stargirl slows down slightly for a much more character-driven piece of drama as various members of the Injustice Society are given crucial screen-time to flesh out their personas and motivations. It’s a really smart idea too, helping us understand their plight while the ever-present idea of Project America hangs over Blue Valley like a black cloud waiting to burst and rain hell-fire on the town....

NoonGil We begin episode 8 of Start-Up with an ominous sign of things to come. The Samsan team mention how friends can become enemies – just as we cut across to the Chairman deciding to hand over the CCTV footage to the legal team. It seems Do-San’s antics are not going unpunished! Anyway, before that we’ve got the calm before the storm, as Dal-Mi tells Do-San what she likes about him....

A light and simple watch Single set movies are notoriously difficult to get right. With very little visual variety, the film instead has to rely on both the acting and the writing to carry things through. Cube is a perfect example of how to get this right in the horror genre, while 12 Angry Men remains an absolute classic to this day. Stuck with You is not close to the greatness those movies exude, and in many ways the film actually betrays its central premise numerous times to spice things up....

New Person, Same Old Mistakes Episode 3 of Surface starts with Sophie questioning Baden about their affair. He deflects that though and brings up the evidence he’s found thus far. According to Baden, James bought a plane ticket a day before the accident but the plane manifest doesn’t see him on there. Furthermore, GPS records on his car hint that he was half a mile from the pier. Sophie wants to arrest James for lying about his alibi, but without hard proof then there’s not much they can go on....

Avery’s Visions Swamp Thing returns this week with another action packed episode, one that moves all the pieces closer to the inevitable finale that’s only two weeks away now. The series itself has been consistently high quality, bringing the comic book characters to life in the best possible way. The horror and drama have meshed well and throughout the show, the tight cinematography and methodical plotting have really helped this one do the original story justice....

Stranger Danger on a Train Episode 6 of Sweet Tooth Season 1 starts with Bear, Gus and Jepp all rushing for the train. It’s touch and go for a while, but they all manage to make it aboard. With no passengers, it seems like it could be easy to hide out for the time being. Until the door swings shut and we see what’s on the other side. It’s a uniform for the Last Men....

Emergency Landing Apple TV+’s latest espionage thriller gets off to quite the tense start. With an uneasy atmosphere clinging to every facet of this production, Apple’s acquisition of KAN 11’s Israeli series is a smart one. It not only shows the ambition of this juggernaut company in following Netflix’s International reach, it’s one that – so far at least – gets off to a flying start. Episode 1 of Tehran begins in Amman Jordan as Flight 159 departs to New Delhi....

Shinguards, boots, the change of clothes, and the flashlight for the hike after the game. He’s the smallest boy in the group but his size doesn’t deter him....

Brett Episode 2 of The Afterparty begins with Brett questioned by Detective Danner. Aniq and Yasper realize the intercom system is connected across the house and decide to do some snooping of their own. Under the guise that Aniq has lost his phone and needs to retrace his steps, he seizes the opportunity to mess about on the intercom and broadcast what Brett is telling Danner. Brett shows up bang on time at the party....
