Shantaram Episode 4 Shantaram is based on the epic book by Gregory David Roberts, and is quite the wild ride. For those unaware, the plot centers on a heroin addict incarcerated for a robbery, who escapes prison and reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums of Bombay. In doing so, this also gives him ties to the criminal underworld and eventually on to Afghanistan, where our protagonist, Lin, partners with a mob boss locked in a battle of his own....

She-Hulk Episode 4 She-Hulk: Attorney At Law marks the final TV venture for Phase 4, with the adventures of She-Hulk. We know there will be some big cameos in this series, including Abomination, Bruce Banner and Daredevil, but the focus is squarely on Jennifer Walters, a woman who navigates a complicated life of being a single, 30-something attorney who finds being the 6-foot-7 inch superpowered Hulk a bit of an inconvenience....

Shooting Stars Episode 6 Shooting Stars is the latest drama to drop into a very crowded weekend line-up of K-drama content. This romantic drama has come under scrutiny recently for its depiction of Africa and it certainly doesn’t look good. The premise though (for those still sticking with this one!) whisks us into the entertainment world, where employees work around the clock to try and clean up the messes created by stars....

Created and co-written by Simone Finch, Single Drunk Female serves as an intimate reflection of the writer’s own personal story of addiction and recovery. It’s likely due to Finch’s unique perspective that this Freeform dramedy lands (in its better moments) with such emotional verve. Sofia Black-D’Ehlia stars as 28-year-old recovering alcoholic Samantha Fink–the show’s titular subject. She’s single, she’s drunk, she’s female; and this TV comedy explores the intersection of these identities throughout the course of 10 episodes....

Hookers Didn’t Kiss on the Lips Episode 1 of Sky Rojo Season 2 begins with our trio of strippers on the run, having thwarted Romeo and his men for now. With his account book in hand, Coral visits the other girls working for Romeo and hands over their passports. After dealing with the girls’, she turns her attention to the security, including Beefcake whom she shoots at point-blank range. Elsewhere, Wendy and Nina race off to get medical attention but they’re stopped by Christian....

The Skyfall Knight Daniel Craig’s James Bond has had quite the tumultuous run. From the highs of Casino Royale to the lows of Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall is ironically sandwiched somewhere between the two. With a clear direction of steering away from some of the conventional Bond tropes of old, Skyfall instead leans on fellow action franchises for inspiration. There’s elements of Mission: Impossible, Bourne and, more noticeably, The Dark Knight, that all crop up here in one form or another to deliver a very moody and gritty Bond, unlike what we’ve seen before....

They head over to a club and Young Gi-Eun seems to be having a great time, happy that she survived once again. She later calls her cop friend and tells her about the body in Euljiro and asks him to go investigate. She also opens up to Mok-won and Kim Sum about how she felt when she was crawling her way out of the area. She shares the conversation she had with Yun-o about abandonment and wonders if Yun-o has mommy issues....

Mitch Episode 5 of Spinning Out starts with flashbacks to Serena’s past, involving her father watching her jumping on a trampoline, bringing us back to the present where Serena listens to music and ignores her Mother, who takes Mitch aside and apologises for what happened between them. Only, he doesn’t take offence to it and things seem to be okay between them. Justin’s parents take the figure skating duo out and buy them a costume each, until Carol arrives and sees Mandy take her usual role of picking out a costume....

The Stable Kat After Kat’s outburst, we begin episode 9 of Spinning Out with her in hospital and a concerned Carol watching over her. This is, of course, a flashback but as we return to the present we see Kat back on the lithium and seemingly stable for now. She’s been asleep for three or four days and Justin is now aware that she has bipolar as well. Meanwhile, Justin’s father visits him at the hotel and gives him his verdict – he has 24 hours to pack his things and leave....

Starting Up Brightly Episode 1 of Start-Up begins this Saturday/Sunday Korean drama in impressive fashion, with a great dose of drama, romance and heartbreak. Sand Box is a high tech company and after a dizzying display outside, we cut to Han Ji-Pyeong talking to his AI companion Yeong-Sil. Only, this AI is less than reliable. He prepares for his big day ahead though while Won In-Jae touches down in Korea and prepares for her own meeting; she’s a spokesperson for a Start-Up Relay Lecture....

Despite having all the ingredients for an exciting season, the methodical pacing and questionable stand-alone episode featuring Eleveb ultimately caused it to pale in comparison to the first season. Returning for a third season, Stranger Things gets off to a bit of a bumpy start, despite some promise late on this episode....

The Bromance I’m not a big fan of cop-out cliffhangers. Following last week’s deliciously dark final scene, Strangers From Hell pulls out a cliched twist before delivering a somewhat pedestrian and straight forward episode. While the inner conflict for Jong-Woo is well written, the distinct lack of horror is a little disappointing for a show that started so promisingly. We return to Strangers From Hell this week where it turns out the figure he saw in the room was just a dream....

The Beths are a unique collective of musicians. They’re empowering but melancholic songs keep the emotions alive. And An Expert In A Dying Field is their purposeful stretch forward; a progressive slant on rock music and a story-driven masterclass. The poetry becomes a mainstay within the songs, and it details sorrowful moments, burning desires, and the lack of light. Though it’s a morose listen at times, the music doesn’t feel jaded; it feels alive and original....

The Cleaning Lady Season 2 Episode 6 It’s certainly rare to find Fox renew a recently premiered show, so this one must have done some good numbers for the network. And it’s easy to see why. Exciting and with some nicely worked twists, The Cleaning Lady is one of the more bingeable thrillers in recent years. Season 2 is set to pick up with Thony desperately trying to locate her son Luca after he was kidnapped by Marco....

The Arrival The Viennese court awaits the arrival of the Empress in waiting at the start of The Empress episode 2. Esterhazy, Sophia’s close confidant and the Chief Court Mistress, comfort her as she goes through pain due to an unknown illness. Franz dismisses the Countess he was having an affair with from the palace after she rejected his offer. Esterhazy, lines up a slew of handmaidens, including the commoner from the last episode’s final scene, giving them strict instructions to not leave any gaps in the preparation of the royal wedding....

The Essex Serpent Season 1 Episode 3 The Essex Serpent is an intriguing period drama with light bites of Gothic horror. The story follows London widow Cora Seaborne, who heads off to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. Whilst there, she ends up befriending a pastor called Will, but when tragedy strikes she’s accused of attracting the creature there. If you’ve been following this one over the weeks, you may be curious to find out when the next episode is releasing....

Tribes Episode 6 of The Expanse Season 5 begins with David Paster, Minister of Transportation, greeting Avasarala. Well, it turns out this guy is the new acting Secretary-General. They discuss the tragedy on Earth together and he knows how important Avasarala was to preventing the tragedy on Earth being worse than it was. In fact, he wants her to join his provisional cabinet. When he leaves the room, Avasarala fumbles with her necklace through shaky hands, eventually exclaiming “damnit” and walking out the room....

Teacher Baek’s Murder The Game: Towards Zero is at its strongest when it doubles down on the action and tension and eases up on the slow build-up. When it comes to this double bill of episodes, The Game does pick things up a little but the show continues to be hounded by plot holes and inconsistencies. The Game is still enjoyable enough to watch and if you’ve made it this far, it’s very likely you’ll see this one through to its conclusion....

Episode 4 Episode 4 of The Golden Spoon starts with Tae-yong wondering if Seung-cheon was the person who sent him the creepy text. He calls the number and Ju-hee’s phone rings just then. Tae-yong grows curious about her. He also finds the envelope from the old lady in his notebook but her letter is missing. Seung-cheon’s friend Dong-kyung states that it was he who put the envelope there. Dong-kyung gets defensive when he thinks Tae-yong is blaming him for theft....
