An Enjoyable But Tonally Inconsistent Film Armed with a dark humour and an abundance of gratuitous violence throughout, Polar throws out a tightly worked script and replaces it with an action-packed thrill ride instead. A grizzled Mads Mikkelsen, who plays a John Wick-esque figure here, is the proverbial glue that holds everything together but the blend of bloody violence, slapstick humour and explicit sexual scenes don’t always hit the right tone the film is going for....

After the initial radio silence, he explains away his actions and the boys forgive him. Hae-Kang however, remains determined to work his way up the ranks. Subjective Art Room 104’s latest episode will almost certainly be another polarizing one. With big ideas around art, creativity and familial bonds, Jimmy and Gianni is an interesting but ultimately heavy-handed episode that hammers home some important ideas on a stage that never quite makes the most of its premise. An Enjoyable Docu-Drama Spanish drama Sara’s Notebook is an interesting, oftentimes engaging film but all too often the tendency to over-dramatise key scenes stifles what’s otherwise a compelling, dramatic film. Set in the heart of the Congo, there’s a distinct African flavour to much of the visual design but unlike fellow film Beasts Of No Nation, Sara’s Notebook feels superficial in its portrayal of the African nation, lacking the cutting edge needed to pull off some of the more dramatic scenes....
