The same sort of allegory that Tolkien despised, which he wrote about in several letters. As the Numenorians disdain at the idea of their Queen being in collusion with elves, Pharazon shows up and reassures them, reminding the group that this will remain a Kingdom of Men, not of Elves....

Augie The latest romantic comedy from HBO Max, Love Life, grabs every trope, cliche and stereotype from the genre and blends them together to produce this new anthology show. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though, and as we’ve seen from countless other rom-coms, with the right set-up and angle it can actually work really well. Unfortunately Love Life does not have that unique angle. Nor does it do anything particularly remarkable....

They intend to go on a road trip together but as they talk, it’s an awkward affair to say the least and Darby makes a hasty exit. The sweeping vistas of 13th century Mongolia are breathtakingly beautiful and really help with feeling like you’ve transported to that time period. Its a shame then that Marco Polo suffers from lacklustre acting and a sluggish pace which ultimately makes this a good, but also flawed, series to watch....

Miss Lady Hawk Herself Episode 1 of Mare of Easttown begins with Detective Sergeant Mare Sheehan receiving a call from Miss Carol early in the morning. Annoyed and cold, she shows up and listens as she discusses a “ferret-looking man” lurking about. According to her, he was wearing a hooded jacket and watching her granddaughter from the garden opposite. Mare agrees to look into this down at the station and takes off....

After the kiss, Dong-Chan and Mi-Ran drive back home in awkward silence. She later calls him to apologise for the kiss and explains she only did it because she thought she was dying....

It’s All About Emma On the 2nd December 2018, I watched the first episode of Memories Of The Alhambra on my morning commute. It was bitterly cold and my fingers were freezing while I held my phone watching the drama unfold.
