Changing The Future We begin episode 13 of Kairos on the 8th November 2001 as we see the various construction workers huddled around a fire before the inevitable collapse. As Seo-Kin heads to the restroom, a guy called Lee hurries out the building just before everything comes crashing down. The building tumbles and Seo-Jin finds himself trapped, calling out in vain for help. Ae-Ri’s Father is impaled and desperate to get back to his daughter, but unfortunately his injuries are too extreme....

The Pills We begin episode 9 of Kairos with Seo-Jin talking to the Director about the incident at the concert. He tells Seo-Jin to let Ae-Ri go and focus on the project at hand so there’s no distractions. When she leaves the police station, Ae-Ri of course receives that infamous call from Seo-Jin in the car accident. Meanwhile, Do-Kyun begins looking through the text messages sent between Seo-Jin and Ae-Ri. Within that, he sees evidence linking back to his time with Hyun-Chae at the apartment and starts to get worried....

When Summer Santa drops a cigarette onto Dapto, the town goes up in flames. The Kookaburra tries to put it out with his wings, but only makes the fire even bigger, and everyone accuses him of ruining Christmas. Kookaburra then decides he’d rather they all burn if they won’t accept him. Do Alison and Rosie run away together? When Rosie comforts Alison over the “death” of her father and her comatose brother, Alison kisses her....

It’s Just A Physical Episode 4 of Komi Can’t Communicate begins during a physical exam. Unbeknown to Komi, fellow student, Yadano Makeru, has turned the whole thing into a one-sided competition. Makeru is determined to beat Komi in three out of four of the physical exam components. Makeru only manages to win in two components, leaving them tied. She despairs until she recovers with the knowledge that ideal body measurements are completely arbitrary....

The Elevator Fight Episode 2 of L.U.C.A.: The Beginning returns to the aftermath of that shocking climax, as Ji-O collapses on the floor, leaving shattered pavement blocks in his wake. As Yi-Son brandishes a knife and prepares to finish the job, a whole host of innocent bystanders arrive and unintentionally save him. There are way too many people around so for now, Yi-Son regroups. As they leave, we cut back to Human Tech where numerous babies are kept in incubators....

We are taken back three months earlier and Heitor is infuriated that it was Diana who killed Bernardo. For 13 years, he has felt guilt, believing he was a killer. The betrayal from his wife, whom they spent over a decade with, is a tough pill to swallow. Before marrying Diana, Heitor was in love with Helena, Bernardo’s sister. Diana calls Fernando to her house to inform him about the video recorded by Zoe....

The Andes We begin episode 4 of Long Way Up in Santa Cruz, Argentina. There’s 11,000 miles+ to go until LA and the landscape is changing. The duo are steering away from Argentina and toward the Andes. After 10-12 days, things are finally starting to look up and the bikes are working as planned. This allows the duo to meet the locals and get involved in the activities. This includes a pretty spicy dinner which the boys pay the price for later on in the day....

Look Both Ways tells the tale of a young animator named Natalie using the “two routes diverged in the yellow wood” premise. In addition to having her life figured out for the next five years, she knows precisely what she desires and when she wants it to come true for her. Natalie wishes to settle down in Los Angeles with her best friend after graduating from college. Her plan begins with her relocating to Los Angeles to establish herself as a creative animator....

A Celebratory Concert 50 years after their original concert at the Folsom Prison, Los Tigres Del Norte return to deliver a heartwarming and poignant music documentary film, interspersed with prisoner stories full of regret at their journeys into prison. Los Tigres Del Norte is an enjoyable film though and while it may not have the lasting power other documentaries of its kind have, there’s enough here to make for an engrossing watch nonetheless....

The Showdown Episode 5 of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) Season 2 begins with Ga-Bin preparing to meet Si-Eun. While they do, Sa-Hyun confesses his love for Song Won. He gets her a ring and decides they should be together for when “Bada” Arrives. As he schmoozes with her, Hye-Ryung watches the rain and decides she’s going to cheat on Sa-Hyun at least once. Well, Sa-Hyun says his goodbyes to his lover, who wants to go it alone now, and leaves her for the time being....

The Doctor Will See You Now Episode 8 of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) Season 2 begins with Hye-Ryung berating Song Won and Sa-Hyun for what they’ve done. She demands Song Won explain everything, including the gym and exact moments they started talking. Even worse, she spies the ring which Sa-Hyun claims was a partying gift for Song Won. Sa-Hyun goes on to admit that this is hard on everyone and nonchalantly tells his wife they should end it....

Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) Season 3 Episode 8 Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) is a makjang in every sense of word but devoid of much drama. While that sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, that’s because it is. The main drama here stems from three couples split across three different age groups. All three men are cheating on their respective partners. After breaking up and making peace with what’s happened, this rabble of characters find themselves faced with life, love, loss and ghost Ki-Rim kicking about too....

The Past Following the previous cliffhanger ending, episode 5 of Love Life begins with Darby heading to therapy; her problems with Magnus have pushed her to breaking point. As the therapist realizes Darby has issues with rejection, we learn all of this started in 2006, 10 years before Magnus when Darby ended up meeting a boy called Luke Ducharme when she was 15. Before we get there though, we see more of Darby’s difficult childhood and what brought her to the boarding school where she finds life isn’t quite what she thought it would be....

Chapter 10 Episode 5 of Lupin Part 2 begins with Dumont preparing security ready for the big theatre event that evening. They know Assane is on the way and Pellegrini believes it’s only a matter of time before he shows to try and exact his revenge. We then cut back three weeks prior to the concert. Assane flies his drone inside Pellegrini’s office and uses footage hooked up to Benjamin’s laptop to find a name – “Lucas Lacroix....

Herb asks if she’s okay. She’s not acting like herself, but she seems better since she’s been back. It’s like she’s at peace. Other Hazel apologizes to Herb for tricking him and taking him to the Hub, but he’s already forgiven her. They hug. Meanwhile, the real Hazel wakes up, trapped in her own brain. She sees her father hugging Other Hazel and is able to run up to them....

She sees her dad. He’s in her brain, like a manifestation of her consciousness. He says she has to find Other Hazel and overthrow her somehow. Only one of them can come into the real world. Hazel resolves to take her down, and Herb says he’ll go with her. Hazel sees doors that Herb calls traps–doors of what-ifs. She ignores him and looks through a door where her mom didn’t die....

Sea Glass Episode 3 of Maid Season 1 begins with Alex attending a court-mandated class on parenting. Denise reassures her that this will look good on her report, as they next head off to see Howie next, a lawyer who gives Alex some solid advice. This scene also highlights some of the serious issues with the court system, given they don’t actually see emotional abuse in the same light as physical abuse....

An Unfortunately Forgettable Action Thriller With the worldwide release of John Wick 3 this week, Netflix bite back with their own revenge thriller, Maria. Borrowing elements from numerous different films in this genre, Maria feels like a jumbled, stitched together patchwork of ideas and one-dimensional characters, with the charisma of Maria herself preventing the film from falling apart. With a simple story and an emphasis on the action, Maria does do a good job with its fight choreography and these scenes are certainly visceral and brutal....

Brotherly Love The utterly bizarre and yet strangely captivating McDonalds case returns this week as we dive further down the rabbit hole. The one question at the heart of episode 2? Who Is Uncle Jerry? Throughout this 50 minute episode, a new cast of colourful characters enter the fray and with it, a deepening understanding of just how far up the chain this McMillions scam went. Three different time periods take centre stage this week, with 1995 focusing primarily on a mysterious donor offering up a winning ticket and subsequently allowing St Judes Hospice to revel in the winnings....
