Renewed Or Cancelled?
Fakes is a Canadian comedy-drama based on two teenage girls who decide to start making and selling fake IDs.
What is Fakes about?
This is a teenage drama on Netflix based on Zoe and Becca, two high school students who end up running a fake ID empire. Becca and Zoe see a business opportunity in making and selling fake IDs to their peers. The fake IDs allow them to buy beer and enter adult establishments and for most teenagers, this is a dream come true. With Becca’s connections and deep pockets (for a teenager that is) and Zoe’s talent and ability to quickly learn things on the internet they start the fake ID business and get an investor named Tryst. However, it is only a matter of time before their business attracts the attention of the police and they find themselves in a lot of legal trouble. We have ongoing coverage of Fakes across the site, including recaps for every episode. You can check that out HERE!
Has Fakes been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Fakes has not been renewed for a second season. Netflix is yet to announce this officially but given the ending of the show, there is a high probability that the show might get a second season. Netflix and CBC Gem will be deciding the fate of the show as the Canadian Studio co-produced this. We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
What we know about season 2 so far:
There has been no announcement from Netflix about this show but the first season ended with a cliffhanger and most of the storyline for different characters remains pending. Viewers want to know what will happen to Tryst, will he be shot? Did the girls take the gun from Guy? Do the police not realize the arrested suspects are missing from the police car? They might consider making season two a mini-series similar to other YA comedies, to give the story a satisfying ending. We will keep you posted on any updates in the future.
