Lee Seung-gi is a South Korean entertainer with a wide spectrum of skills and talents. He is an actor, a variety show member, he can sing, can MC, and is a show host. Seung-gi is all-rounded which earned him the nickname “nation’s umchina” since he is brilliant at everything. He employs this versatility in rehearsals and training to deliver astounding performances in all his characters.
The Law Café (2022)
Seung-gi plays the role of Kim Jeong-ho, a former prosecutor who quit his former job due to his father’s corruption scandal. He is unemployed and lives off the rent from the building he owns and lives on its rooftop. He is very smart and colleagues nicknamed him a monster genius. Jeong-Ho is also clumsy but cool – and with an inexplicable charm. The building he owns houses the law firm that is also a café run by his childhood friend Kim Yu-ri, played by Lee Se-young.
Shining Inheritance (2009)
Seung-gi plays the role of an arrogant rich man who is not serious about life as he was born and raised with a silver spoon by his wealthy grandmother and mother. He is forced to return to Korea by his grandmother to learn how to manage their food company. He does not take the business seriously and does not value the employees that disappoint his grandmother. She announces that she will give her inheritance to Ko Eun- sung, played by Han Hyo-joo.
Vagabond (2019)
Seung-gi plays the role of a stuntman with dreams of becoming a famous action star, Cha Dal-geon. He also raises his orphaned nephew Cha Hoon played by Moon Woo-jin. His nephew travels for a Taekwondo competition in Morocco and the plane crashes and kills all the passengers. The plane crash has been ruled an accident due to mechanical failure. However, when he flies to Morocco for the mass funeral, he finds information that suggests otherwise. He collaborates with NIS agent Go Hae-ri, played by Bae Suzy, to find the truth and uncover a web of corruption and conspiracies.
A Korean Odyssey (2017)
Seung-gi appears as Soo Oh-gong. He is an immortal, the Monkey King, exiled from heaven for his crimes. He is selfish, mischievous, and prideful. He roams the human world trying to do good deeds and earn brownie points to be reinstated to heaven. He has many powers including body imprisonment, levitation, telekinesis, and pyrokinesis.
You’re All Surrounded (2014)
Seung-gi’s character is a rookie detective Eun Dae-gu. His mother was murdered to prevent her from giving her testimony about a crime she had witnessed. He decided to change his name from Kim Ji-yong to protect himself and avoid being a victim of his mother’s murderer. He joins the Gangnam police station intending to investigate his mother’s murder. Although neither passionate nor enthusiastic about police work, he is smart and intelligent with a photographic memory.
Gu Family Book (2013)
The Seung-gi character is Choi Kang-chi, a half-human half-beast adopted by the Park Mu-sol family when he was a baby. He is a troublemaker but also loyal, and kind-hearted, and stands up for Justice. When his adoptive parents are killed, he takes up the role of taking care of his step-siblings. He realizes his ability to transform into a half-mythical creature with superhuman strength. He joins a martial arts school to learn how to control his transformation and seeks the elusive Gu family secret book that can help him become fully human.
King2Hearts (2012)
Seung-gi represents the character of Prince Lee Jae-ha of the South Korean Monarchy. He is handsome, refined, charismatic, and humorous. He also appears irresponsible, prideful, and arrogant. However, this demeanor is a façade he uses to avoid making friends because everyone treats him differently once they find out he is a prince. He is interested in neither politics nor has any desire to become the next King.
My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho (2010)
Seung-gi’s character is a spoiled rich orphan, Cha Dae Wung, brought up by his wealthy grandfather and aunt. He is a college student uninterested in education and has a dream to become a famous action star. His grandfather Cha Poong, played by Byun Hee-bong, is constantly disappointed in him and wants him to take his studies seriously. He also wants to change his major. The grandfather wants to send him to a boarding school but he runs away and accidentally lets a nine-tailed fox free of a painting.
Mouse (2021)
Seung-gi’s role is of a rookie police officer Jung Ba-reum. He is honest, kind-hearted, compassionate, and a champion for justice. He encounters the psychopath killer terrifying the whole nation and leaving a string of chaos in his wake. The encounter changes Ba-reum’s life and he collaborates with Ko Moo-chi, played by Lee Hee-joon to uncover the truth behind the behaviors of psychopaths.
